Slackware 7 is available on 2 CD-ROM's, Install and Source, each for $1.95. Slackware Linux is compatible with most Intel PC hardware and supports most CD-ROM drives, sound cards, ethernet devices, and mice.
CA Establishes Enterprise Linux Advisory Council
Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) announced the formation of the CA Enterprise Linux Advisory Council, a comprehensive business initiative that will focus on identifying and defining new projects and products that will address the unique and specific needs of Enterprise Linux users.
Fujitsu goes Linux
Mr. Maeyama, the President of Fujitsu Software Operations, says that "Fujitsu believes that new operating environments, in personal computing especially the emerging Linux alternative, is today a viable solution platform for many customers. Providing software on Linux is therefore a logical step."
